Your immune system is highly efficient in providing multiple defenses – an infrastructure of white blood cells and antibodies – as your body’s tissues and cells work together to resist and defend against unwanted bacteria intrusions, infections and diseases to prevent or fight cancer. If you have cancer, put together a team of medical professionals to help you fight this dreaded disease. Cancer can affect everyone differently. Take care of your immune system:
- Eat a colorful, low-fat, low-sodium, low-sugar and high-fiber balanced diet, featuring whole foods with zinc, selenium, calcium, potassium and magnesium
- At the first sign of cancer, consider a macrobiotic diet
- Avoid chemical exposure
- Eat organic foods
- Reduce red meat consumption (replace with fish or unprocessed soy)
- Exercise regularly – at least 3-4 times per week
- Reduce your stress
- Maintain a healthy body weight. If you are obese or overweight, lose the pounds
- No smoking
- No alcohol
- Drink lots of water – at least 8 eight-ounce cups per day
- Drink tea – green or herbal – at least 3 cups per day
- Drink raw, 100% fruit and vegetable juices
- Take daily vitamins, minerals and supplements
- Laugh often
- Be positive and self-confident – spiritual well-being is important
- Enjoy every breath of life
