Think of your heart as your body’s center or anchor.  It’s the muscle that gives us life.  You need to do everything you can to keep your heart healthy:

  • Eat a colorful, low-fat, low-sodium, low-sugar and high-fiber balanced diet
  • Exercise regularly
  • Maintain a healthy body weight.  If you are obese or overweight, lose the pounds
  • No smoking
  • Drink moderately – wine is better than beer or hard alcohol
  • Drink lots of water – at least 8 eight-ounce cups per day
  • Drink tea – green, oolong, black or herbal – at least 3 cups per day
  • Take daily vitamins, minerals and supplements
  • Reduce your stress
  • Enjoy every breath of life
