Richmel Productions
is a diversified, independent entertainment company headed by President & CEO, Richard F. Melcombe.

Richmel specializes in Entertainment and New Media.  In entertainment, Richmel focuses on domestic & international television, strategic thinking & planning for major media companies, and domestic & international marketing and promotion.  In New Media, Richmel focuses on mobile & online content and advertising, as well as social media.

Richmel formed Richmel Media in 2008 to launch its first website, melslife.com, focusing on healthy living, lifestyles, and food, and is now one of the largest healthy living sites in America for young people.

In 2012, Richmel Media invested in the “second screen” space and developed its own app called HiVe (High Velocity Television) Plus, and is working with several networks on launching HiVe, or HiVe’s advertising solution on their second screen apps. Richmel Media is also working with advertisers and their agencies to solve many of the issues with interactive advertising, and to provide network ad sales departments with second screen collateral material for their clients.

Richmel was a founding company and partner in Action Adventure Network.  Television series produced by AAN include The Lost World with executive producer John Landis.  The show aired for four years in syndication anchored by the Tribune station group and five years on cable network TNT.  Episodes still air around the globe.

Movies produced by AAN include Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde with executive producer Francis Ford Coppola, Matthew Blackheart with executive producer Richard Donner, and Fearless with executive producer Roger Donaldson.

Additional television shows produced by Richmel include NBC’s Camp Cucamonga, Jennifer Aniston’s first movie, Emergency 911 for syndication, the comedy Our Gang for TBS, and the sports game show Grudge Match, as well as many network, cable, and syndicated pilots.  A British version of Grudge Match was produced in the United Kingdom for the ITV Network.

In 1996, Richmel launched its Spanish-language division, Señorita Anita Productions, which was devoted to the production of high-quality Spanish-language and bilingual programming for the US Latino market.

Señorita Anita Production produced 85 hours of Al Día con María Conchita for Telemundo, which was a talk and variety show hosted by Maria Conchita Alonso.  Señorita Anita Productions has also produced two shows for Univision and Galavision -- Al Desnudo and Mi Casita -- and developed six shows for Telefutura and one for Telemundo.

In 1998, Sony acquired the original Señorita Anita Productions to produce shows exclusively for Telemundo.  Richmel retained the rights to the Señorita Anita Productions name.

In 2006, Richmel revived its low-cost and Spanish-language entity, Señorita Anita Productions, and produced the reality magazine show Ride ‘N for the ABC Television Station Group. Richmel recently invested in several Hispanic Think Tanks focusing on empowerment, workplace innovation, leadership, and media.

In 2005 and continuing through June 2007, Richmel had a development deal with NBC, and partnered with Dreamworks to produce an action hour in China. In 2011, Richmel had a development deal with FOX, and partnered with Brett Ratner’s Rat TV, to produce a show in Shanghai. In 2013, Richmel is working on a reboot of Grudge Match and developing shows that incorporate opportunities for digital media and second screen apps. Richmel Asia is working on forming a production services company in Shanghai.

Richmel has developed action hours for NBC, CBS, MTV and Sony International, and reality shows for USA Network, Buena Vista Television, FX, and The Sci-Fi Channel, and sitcoms for FOX, NBC, ABC, CBS, and TBS.

Richmel has been one of the premiere marketing and promotional companies in Hollywood for on-air network promotions, interstitial programming, and network branding in the United States.

Campaigns include NASCAR, the NCAA March Madness Campaign, the CBS upfront presentation, Universal’s 5th Wheel and Blind Date, Buena Vista’s The Tony Danza Show, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, and Regis & Kelly.  Past campaigns included the CBS Women of Monday Night, Madonna for The Grammy Awards, Everybody Loves Raymond, The King of Queens, Dawson’s Creek, The Hughley’s, Rosie O’Donnell, Jerry Springer, Judge Mathis, and the launch of the PAX TV (now Ion) network.

The company has also produced high-end corporate sales tapes for clients such as Liberty Media, NBC, Fox, Warner Bros., Disney, Paramount, Universal, USA Network, HBO, The Family Channel, DirecTV, and PamAmSat (now Intelsat).

Richmel produced the popular Green Dot prepaid VISA and MASTERCARD commercials.

Richmel also consults major media companies on strategic thinking, business planning, programming, and business opportunities. Clients have included GE’s NBC, Chinese industrialists, PanAmSat (now Intelsat), AT&T/TCI, Liberty Media, Ted Turner and Turner Broadcasting, Pearson/All American Communications/FremantleMedia, Home Shopping Network, and Sony Pictures Entertainment.

Early in Mr. Melcombe’s career, he co-wrote the business plan for Turner Broadcasting’s TNT cable network, launched a Liberty Media cable network, and has consulted on many cable network launches.
