Chutzpah? Recently I got an email from someone I had not seen or spoken to in 6-7 years. His email was one of desperation. Life -- and this horrible economy -- had not been good for him or his family. He asked me to cosign on his son’s college loan. While my heart ached for him, I could not Read More.....

I like to read and I am a news junkie. In the last 2-3 weeks, there have been countless articles on whether or not the stimulus worked, should our government keep spending and reduce deficits later, and what the Euro financial crisis means to us. China is often used in these stories to make a Read More.....

My two worlds: entertainment and business. Last week my lunch with a television network executive was canceled at the last minute. Every college we visited had an honor code, which is one of the necessities for my son. Each college proudly told us about their honor code and what it means to its students. I Read More.....

I recently invested in a new business that helps people. It’s very similar to the entertainment business – in terms of marketing, branding, and captivating people. My partners and I are preparing for a meeting with a significant retailer to buy one of our new offerings. It’s fun again to get back Read More.....

A couple of weeks ago, I attended the New York Fancy Food Show and it was amazing. It took my sister and I approximately seven hours to eat, smell, and witness the show. It was a very well organized event produced by the National Association for the Specialty Food Trade (NASFT). I enjoy meeting Read More.....

Since I have outsourced most of Richmel Media & Productions – and my assistant is in India – I take a few days each summer to reorganize my office and filing systems. Last week, I went through this past year’s paperwork, and it reminded me of our growth this year with melslife and the television Read More.....

I like reading obituaries. Is this morbid? I do not think so. I learn about people and their lives, and it gives me perspective on living. I feel sad too about the lost of life, and obituaries are reminders for all of us to make our lives count. Obituaries frame our mortality and humanity. Read More.....
